DR. Seuss was an American children's author, political cartoonist, illustrator, poet, animator, screenwriter, and filmmaker.
DR. Seuss is best known for being the writer behind such books as: The Grinch who stole Christmas, The Lorax, Horton hears a who, Green eggs and ham, Cat in the hat, and so much more.
During WW2, DR. Seuss took a break from writing children's books to illustrate political cartoons, he also worked in the animation/ film department of the US Army where he wrote, produced and animated many productions, some of which were live action.

While at Dartmouth University, DR. Seuss was encouraged to continue his writing by professor of rhetoric W. Benfield Pressey, Seuss said that his professor was his "Big inspiration for writing"
On December 1st 1995, four years after Seuss's death University of California, San Diego's University building was renamed to Geisel Library in honour of Geisel & Audrey for their amazing contributions to the library.
