Netflix, Inc is an American Subscription streaming service and production company. Netflix offers a vast library of films and televisions series through distribution deals and through their own productions known as Netflix Originals. Reed Hastings got the idea for Netflix after renting a VHS Tape from Blockbuster Video after he was charged a late fee for returning the tape past it's return date.

Reed Hastings knew that things could be better so he started work on Netflix. Netflix started off as a DVD by Mail company; customers could both rent and buy DVD's from Netflix without late fees.

By 2007 Netflix launched it's streaming service, the service launched at $7.99 per month.
